Tanker crash closes NW 27nd Avenue; 112 reopened

A tanker crash and fuel spill beneath a highway overpass closed State Road 112 between 17th and 27th avenues Monday afternoon.

The highway was reopened after it was determined to be safe for traffic, said Joe Sanchez, a spokesman for the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened under the highway. Northwest 27th Avenue was affected from 36th to 41st streets. That stretch remains closed while crews clean up spilled fuel.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, Sanchez said.
