Charlie Sheen has issued an apology after making a homophobic slur Friday night during the opening of rooftop bar at a seaside hotel in Mexico.

“I meant no ill will and intended to hurt no one and I apologize if I offended anyone,” Sheen said in the statement.

The slur was caught on tape.

“How we doing?” Sheen says to the crowd as he takes the stage to introduce some musical acts, according to the video posted on TMZ’s website. “Lying bunch of … how we doing?”

On Friday, Sheen promoted on Twitter the opening of Epic Bar, near Cabo San Lucas, on the southern tip of Baja California. Sheen later tweeted a photo of himself with an arm around Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, also there for the grand opening.

It’s settled

Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera has reported the details of the divorce settlement between billionaire ex-Premier Silvio Berlusconi and his second wife Veronica Lario, saying he must pay her 3 million euro ($4 million) a month alimony but gets to keep their estate. Lario announced she was divorcing the media mogul in 2009, citing his propensity for young lovelies. The couple met in 1980 backstage at a play Lario was costarring in; they married in 1990 and have three children. The 76-year-old politician has two children from his first marriage and is currently dating a woman nearly 50 years his junior.

A single man

Michael Phelps is back in the dating pool, according to widespread media reports. The 27-year-old Olympian ended his relationship with aspiring model Megan Rosse because he reportedly felt it was not going anywhere serious.

They had been dating almost a full year.
