Recently, we went to renew a driver’s license at Northside Shopping Center on Northwest 27th Avenue. I was in shock when I saw that the only business there was the Department of Motor Vehicles.
The police department had a station there as well, but that was it.
It was sad.
The people who live nearby need help, though I imagine the shopping center is private property.
Instead of helping so many countries, we should begin at home, and it can be done.
My husband is a retired architect and he can do volunteer work, and I can help with paperwork.
The families in the surrounding neighborhoods are alone. They don’t even have a big market or pharmacies.
It’s really a shame. Money and money and more money, and that is not working. The government should help but so should private enterprise.
