This New Year’s, I’m determined to keep my resolution to be healthier.
In the past, I’ve tried different fad diets, and they’ve never lasted.
But now, I’ve just started something new that’s so simple I’m confident I can stick with it.
That’s making each Monday meat-free.
Meat-free Mondays are an easy way to reduce my consumption of meat, thereby reducing my intake of fat and cholesterol.
In fact, the three leading killers in America, heart disease, cancer and stroke, are all less likely to occur when eating less meat.
While it’s common sense that we should eat more veggies, fruits and beans, this basic notion of healthy eating can be easily incorporated into our diet by making Monday the designated day of the week to skip meat.
Physicians, healthcare professionals and public-health institutions agree — Meat-free Mondays can improve our health one day of the week at a time.
