After shooting a man outside a Pembroke Pines shopping center, a woman turned the gun on herself, taking her own life, police said Thursday.

The man, who is recuperating at Memorial Regional Hospital, was identified as Daniel Joshua Zeller, 36, of Pembroke Pines.

His attacker: Angeli Marie Alvarez, 38, of Pembroke Pines.

Witnesses at the Visionworks, 12208 Pines Blvd., described hearing four gun shots coming from inside a car and seeing Alvarez flee in another car.

Her body was found about four miles away.

The relationship between the two was unknown.

Zeller’s family said they are in the process of working with an attorney.

Visionworks manager Pablo Quiles was working Wednesday afternoon when the shootings took place.

“He said he couldn’t believe he had gotten shot,” said Quiles. “He was shot above his waist, under his arm and said he couldn’t feel his waist or legs.”

Anyone with information about the shootings is asked to call the Pembroke Pines Police Department at 954-431-2200; or email Tipsppines.com; or call Crimestoppers at 954-493-8477.
