In 2000, my wife spent hours glazing and firing a large scale nativity which for years was under the tree or most recently decorating the front of the house we have called home for the past four years. This year, someone decided that they needed the Virgin Mary and the Christ Child more than we did. Amazing considering each of the pieces was signed and dated when she lovingly made them when our children were still young. I can only guess that they left Joseph when they were nearly caught in the act by one of our neighbors.
This wonderful time of year is spoiled by the few who through greed think nothing of others around them.
Is it the new way or just the worst of South Florida? We left the North to get away from the snow and cold only to find the cold hearted. I doubt we ever see the Mary and Christ child again. I am starting to doubt that the Christmas Spirit is found in South Florida. So to whoever took it, I wish you a Merry Christmas. Maybe the stolen Christ figure warm someone’s heart.
