While many of us gather ’round the caja china and stare outside at palm trees, famous people are also taking a break to settle down for one of the biggest of holidays. We checked out what a few were doing with their family and other animals.
Jennifer Lawrence : The Hunger Games’ leading lady is going home to Louisville, Ky., she told the U.K.’s The Guardian. The trained archer plans to go first-time clay pigeon shooting with her brother. “I don’t know what his shooting skills are like — I’m sure they’re better than mine. I’m going to have to bring my bow and arrow.”
Jane Krakowski: The 30 Rock star told Celebrity Baby Scoop she had fun picking out a tree and introducing her 20-month-old son Bennett to St. Nick. “We got the classic screaming photo on Santa’s lap.” As for shopping for relatives, the actress didn’t have to do much: “I have nephews who at this point really just want cash.”
Tom Cruise: Looks like the Jack Reacher star’s divorce settlement involves custody over the holidays. Cruise told press on a London red carpet that he had “special things planned” with all his three kids, Bella, 20, Connor, 17, and Suri, 6. “We are all going to be together. I am looking forward to it.”
Rod Stewart: Life sure has changed for the veteran rocker, he told Hello! “There are a few more shillings about now, however, my childhood memories of Christmas are full of joy.” Stewart now spends the holiday with wife No. 3 Penny Lancaster, their two young sons and his multiple kids (eight altogether). The former model revealed their plans: “In the afternoon all the boys want to do is jump around in all the wrapping paper and empty boxes. That’s when Rod disappears to his library to watch television on the big screen, hoping that the mess will be cleared up on his return. He likes a tidy house.”
Neil Patrick Harris : The How I Met Your Mother star and partner David Burtk a will stay local with 2-year-old twins Gideon and Harper, he told People. “This year will be an L.A. Christmas. Both sets of our parents are flying in,” he says. “I’m very much looking forward to relaxing and not having to navigate airport madness.”
Jessica Biel: The newlywed told Good Morning America not much will change now that she is Mrs. Justin Timberlake. “We’re pretty much going to do the same thing that we do every year: hang out with our family and just be mellow.” C’mon, no Christmas karaoke?
Betty White: The Hollywood legend, 90, can do what she wants to do: avoid the mayhem. White told People magazine it’ll be her and the dog. “He’s my family,” she said of golden retriever Ponty. “We just have a cozy day all day. We look forward to that all year.”
Selena Gomez: Justin Bieber’s estranged girlfriend will be taking a well-deserved break, solita. The singer-actress told Entertainment Tonight: “I want to go home and sleep and eat a lot of food with my grandparents [in Texas]... It’ll be awesome.” Sounds like a plan.
