American Heritage parts ways with Jeff Dellenbach

Plantation American Heritage announced Thursday it has parted ways with athletic director and football coach Jeff Dellenbach after two seasons.

The Patriots released a statement stating that the school chose to separate both positions going forward and that Dellenbach as a result would no longer be employed by the school.

“We are moving forward with the reorganization of both positions in that way,” said June Walker, American Heritage’s Chief Financial Officer, in a statement. “We hope that Jeff finds a good position with a quality school.”

The school did not release any information about a possible replacement for either job.

Dellenbach led the Patriots to back-to-back district championships and 9-2 records after taking over for longtime former AD and football coach Byron Walker. Both seasons ended with first-round home losses to Miami Jackson.

Dellenbach, a former offensive lineman with the Miami Dolphins, was the head football coach at North Broward Prep in Coconut Creek from 2007 to 2009 where he led the Eagles to a 22-11 record and a district title during that span.
