In the ongoing shareholders derivative action lawsuit against U.S. Century Bank’s current and former directors and officers, a Circuit Couirt judge in Miami on Wednesday granted the shareholders’ request to file an amended lawsuit, to include C1 Bank as a defendant, said Elisabeth Culmo, co-counsel for the plaintiffs for the lawsuit.

C1 Bank of St. Petersburg is awaiting federal regulatory approval to acquire the troubled U.S. Century Bank, based in Doral. The shareholders who have filed suit are challenging the pending merger, which was originally expected to be completed by the end of the year.
