A woman died Tuesday after being struck by a pickup truck in Hialeah.

The woman was walking on a sidewalk in front a shopping center at the intersection of West 16th Avenue and 53rd Street when the driver of the truck jumped the sidewalk and slammed into her, police spokesman Carl Zogby said.

The truck then careened back into the street and hit a school bus with 16 children onboard.

Zogby said no on the bus was injured. The driver of the truck also escaped injury.

Police have not released the name of the woman who died.
