EAGLES’ FOLES (YES, FOLES) WINS WEEK 14 TITLE;
BRONCOS’ MANNING LEADS THREE-MAN SEASON RACE
The Eagles’ Nick Foles wins the Week 14 crown while Bronco Peyton Manning maintains his overall season lead in The Miami Herald’s Passer Success System (PASS) quarterback rankings. Manning is gunning for his fifth PASS championship and first since 2006, in what is now a three-man race against. Matt Ryan and Tom Brady with three weeks to play. Dolphin Ryan Tannehill holds steady in 26th place. Our rankings, in their 15th year, use a simple formula unchanged since their inception in 1998, factoring accuracy, yardage, TD/INT ratio and team result (but not a QB’s running). Most ratings including the NFL’s are complicated and percent-based, allowing a player to miss half a season injured and still win a title, while ours are cumulative and place a premium on productive QBs who avoid injury or benching. Our updated 2012 rankings appear in this space every Sunday.
