A man was found dead in a Hollywood apartment after police were called regarding a loud argument in the complex’s courtyard, according to Hollywood Police Spokesman Sgt. Pablo Vanegas.

Vanegas said when officers arrived, there was no one in the courtyard, but when officers knocked on unit 6 of the apartment complex at 6140 Filmore St., 18-year-old Joseph Valcarcel answered the door.

“There was blood everywhere,” said Vanegas.

Police found the unidentified man, who is believed to be in his 50s.

Valcarcel was arrested and charges are pending, said Vanegas.
