If former Gov. Charlie Crist runs for office again, I will remember what he did in the past: He vetoed mandatory ultra-sounds for women seeking to terminate pregnancies and he stood up for teachers and other public employees. He graciously welcomed a newly inaugurated president of the United States and the federal assistance offered to Florida residents negatively impacted by the financial crisis.
Most important, as Florida’s attorney general during the Terri Schiavo public spectacle, he vehemently stated that government has no business deciding end of life issues while Marco Rubio, as speaker of the state House, gave Gov. Jeb Bush the executive authority to order the feeding tube remain in a comatose woman.
These are the issues that matter so I don’t really care what party affiliation is on his voter I.D. card.
