TEAM OF THE WEEK

Mike White threw for 282 yards and two touchdowns and linebacker Skai Moore finished with a game-high 14 tackles and a sack to help the University School football team (12-0, No. 5 in the Rivals 100) rally for a 24-17 win over Madison County in the Class 3A state championship game.

ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Ashley Keveles and McKenzie Malone, Taravella, girls’ soccer: Malone scored a goal and Keveles recorded her fourth shutout to lead the Trojans (7-2-4) over Monarch 1-0.

Vance Houston, Nova, boys’ basketball: Houston had a game-high 25 points to lead the Titans over Douglas 63-57.

Fred Coppet and Madre London, St. Thomas Aquinas, football: Coppet ran for 131 yards and a touchdown, and London added two scoring runs to help the Raiders (12-2) stun Manatee, the nation’s No. 1-ranked team, 35-18 in the Class 7A state semifinals.

Taylor Burrell, Highlands Christian, girls’ basketball: Burrell had a team-high 14 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Knights over Westminster Academy 53-44.

Arlen Almonor, Blanche Ely, wrestling: Almonor won the 120-pound class to help the Tigers beat South Plantation 45-24.

Zach Serraguti and Matthew Sharp, Westminster Academy, boys’ soccer: Serraguti and Sharp scored to lead the Lions (4-2-2) over Coral Springs Christian 2-0.

Briyana Lloyd, South Broward, girls’ basketball: Lloyd had 23 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs over St. Thomas Aquinas 63-48.

Matt Dayes and Alex Montgomery, Cypress Bay, football: Dayes rushed for 183 yards and two touchdowns, and Montgomery had six catches for 137 yards and a touchdown and a 34-yard interception return for another score to help the Lightning (12-2) dispatch Miami Columbus 33-13 in the Class 8A state semifinals.

Jessica Johnson, Pompano Beach, girls’ soccer: Johnson’s goal held up as the Tornadoes (7-5-1) beat Deerfield Beach 1-0.

Jack Miskel and Travis Brumfield, St. Thomas Aquinas, boys’ soccer: Miskel and Brumfield scored a goal each to lead the Raiders (6-1-1) over Nova 2-0.

Andrekia Thompson, Coconut Creek, girls’ basketball: Thompson had a game-high 19 points to lead the Cougars over Blanche Ely 67-39.

Melvin Brooks, Cardinal Gibbons, boys’ basketball: Brooks had 12 points and a game-high 14 rebounds to power the Chiefs over North Broward Prep 65-48.

Aryel Vulcain, Everglades, wrestling: Vulcain won the 152-pound class to help the Gators beat Monarch 57-13.
