Her designs are in homes and hotels around the world. But her flagship store, and her personal home base, is right here in Miami. With seven furniture lines and more than 500 design projects under her belt, Adriana Hoyos is famous for her contemporary yet timeless style. Trained at Marymount University in Arlington,VA, Hoyos was born in Colombia and moved to Ecuador with her parents by the time she was 10. Which is one reason South American artistry and materials figure so prominently in her work. “It is both my background and my muse,” she says. Busy planning the opening of her third U.S. showroom in the fall in Dallas, Hoyos took a break to share some ideas for buying gifts for homebodies.
