For the fashionista

In this age of global fashion retailers, to be a successful independent boutique isn't easy. To do so in Miami, home to outposts of just about every major luxury apparel brand, is downright impressive. Pamela García, owner of the Koko & Palenki boutique, has, in fact, done it. With three local stores—at Village of Merrick Park, Aventura Mall and Dadeland Mall—she not only brings in designers from around the world (from Emilio Castillo to Rachel Zoe) but understands that highlighting local talent (like Broward-based Tricia Milaneze and her Lavish jewelry line) helps deepen her ties to South Florida. We asked García for her best advice in picking gifts for a fashionista.
