Miami-Dade High School roundup

Booker T. Washington’s Nigel Patten seeks redemption in final against Jacksonville Bolles

Patten made a key interception in the Tornadoes’ 41-13 state semifinal win at Cocoa last week, and had another pick he returned for a touchdown nullified by a penalty.

This week, Patten is looking for such a performance to become a defining moment in his high school career.

“All your friends, fans and peers felt like you blew the game and that’s all [Patten] was hearing when we got back last year,” Booker T. offensive coordinator Tim Harris Jr. said. “We’re happy to see him playing at his best now. That one play is feeding him right now. I’m looking forward to seeing how he responds to that at state.”
