I was furious, and so very sad, to read the Dec. 2 article A death by bureaucratic callousness, about Marie Freyre.
When will the horror dealt those in state care stop? There are too many stories about the suffering of children, the disabled, the elderly and others under Florida’s care. Where are our government leaders? Why aren’t they speaking out and taking steps to fix this mess? This is America. We are not taking care of those who cannot take care of themselves.
I hope The Herald keeps a close eye on this terrible situation, and that we make life better for those who are not as fortunate as we are.
