Davie’s ‘Lighting of the Greens’ will spark more than 150,000 lights

Davie’s annual Lighting of the Greens, which signals the town’s official start of the holiday season, begins at 6:15 p.m. Sunday evening when more than 150,000 lights and 40 Christmas trees will be illuminated.

Santa will arrive at Davie’s Town Hall, 6591 Orange Dr., followed by a horse parade along Orange Drive at 6:30 p.m.

Children 12 and younger can play in 20 tons of snow, climb a rock wall and pet farm animals.

Free homemade cookies and hot and cold drinks will be provided.

Admission is free.
