Not too reassured

 

Re Jennifer Rubin’s Nov. 28 Other Views column, For GOP, the more the merrier: So, Jeb Bush is reassuring, like he was in his crazed performance in the Terri Schiavo case where, even after the autopsy found two-thirds of her brain was gone, Bush attempted to have her husband investigated for murder claiming, without an iota of evidence, that the autopsy disclosed that her husband delayed calling 911 when she initially fell into a coma some 15 years earlier.

Was he reassuring when he advocated and signed the Stand Your Ground law — a license to commit murder? Was he reassuring when he concocted a phony list of “felons” to block thousands of blacks from voting for a Democrat for president? Is Rubin playing with a full deck?

    Adding beds won’t solve homeless problem

    Re the June 14 story City to add 15 beds at shelters: Over the last several weeks our community has watched several Miami commissioners’ efforts to deal with the homeless population in and around the downtown urban core.

  • Obama no war monger

    There are, of course, many reasons to be grateful that President Obama defeated Sen. John McCain in 2008. But perhaps Syria is the biggest reason.

  • Team’s conduct unbecoming

    Shame on the Miami Heat players, team management and the NBA for the deportment of the Heat players during the playing of the National Anthem before Game 4. Their disrespect was reprehensible and warrants immediate action by the league office. Not one of them rendered appropriate honor to our nation. They looked like a bunch of thugs.
