TEAM OF THE WEEK

Matt Dayes rushed for two touchdowns, including the 43-yard go-ahead score with 2:46 left in the third quarter, to help the Cypress Bay football team (11-2) score 31 unanswered point and beat Seminole Ridge 31-14 in the Class 8A regional finals.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Bernadette Devaney, Nova, girls’ basketball: Devaney hit seven three-pointers and finished with a career-high 32 points to lead a 83-52 victory over Miami Pace.

John O’Korn, St. Thomas Aquinas, football: O’Korn completed 13 of 19 passes for 180 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Raiders (11-2) over Boyd Anderson 28-24 in the Class 7A Regional Finals.

Scott Palmer, Cooper City, boys’ basketball: Palmer had a game-high 22 points to lead the Cowboys over Nova, 60-53.

Van Camille, Stranahan, girls’ soccer: Camille scored two goals to lead the Dragons to a 4-1 win over Hallandale.

Austin Oltime, South Broward, boys’ basketball: Oltime had a game-high 18 points to lead the Bulldogs’ 51-49 victory over Plantation.

Mike White, University School, football: White completed 25 of 30 passes for 326 yards and two touchdowns to help the Suns (11-0) rout Clearwater Central Catholic, 42-0, in the Class 3A state semifinals.

Aisha Edwards, Coral Springs Charter, girls’ basketball: Edwards had a game-high 17 points to lead the Panthers over Cardinal Gibbons, 46-25.

John Belfort, Blanche Ely, boys’ soccer: Belfort scored three goals in the Tigers’ 5-3 victory over Fort Lauderdale.

Samantha Johnson, Pine Crest, girls’ basketball: Johnson had a team-high 18 points to help the Panthers edge Trinity Christian, 41-39.

Alberto Chivario, Somerset, boys’ soccer: Chivario scored three goals to lead the Panthers to a 5-2 win over South Florida HEAT.

Jordyn Elliot, Pine Crest, girls’ soccer: Elliot had two goals to lead the Panthers (7-3-2) over Pope John Paul II, 3-1.

Jessica Jahody, Sagemont, girls’ soccer: Jahody had four goals to lead the Lions to a 5-2 victory over Lake Worth Christian.
