Re the Nov. 24 article, Prayers could return to meetings: I’m a Christian, and my way of living a Christian life is to ask myself continually, “What would Jesus do?” He certainly would never have imposed a particular form of religious expression on anyone, Christians or non-Christians.
However, if those self-professed Christian revisionists want to blur that line between church and state, they should also revisit Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954, not to mention the Miami-Dade property tax regulations.
Freedom of speech isn’t actually free — it comes with civic responsibility. And that responsibility includes paying taxes. If folks want to move a little further into the world of Caesar, then you’d better start rendering a little more to Caesar.
