Recently my wife and I stopped for a quick lunch at a major fast food restaurant.
The men’s room was under construction — no toilets, no sinks, nothing. The ladies’ room was also under construction, but did have a toilet and one sink although no soap or towels.
I called the Miami-Dade County Health Dept. and was told that they didn’t inspect restaurants, but to call the State Dept. of Business Regulation whose Miami office phone was out of order. They were kind enough to give me the Tallahassee number where I was told to e-mail a complaint and that they had no contact with the actual inspection department.
My concern is that the restaurant was open for business in spite of having no sanitation facilities for male customers, meager facilities for women and the public had no way to report an even more serious health problem, if necessary.
