Police and the Coast Guard rescued two men Monday morning after their boat flipped in the waters off Key Biscayne near Bill Baggs state park.

The two brothers went out fishing in a 12-foot boat when they ran into trouble and their boat took on water and capsized, according to Miami Herald news partner CBS4. One of the men swam to shore and called for help.

The brother left in the water clinged to a cooler lid as he struggled to reach shore. A Coast Guard crew pulled him aboard their boat.

He was taken to Crandon Park Marina where he was checked out by paramedics. Both men were then taken to Mercy Hospital in Coconut Grove, according to CBS4.
