TALLAHASSEE -- With Florida coming to town Saturday and his team’s BCS hopes on the line, one angle Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher isn’t giving much consideration to is how the outcome of the game will affect the perception of the Atlantic Coast Conference.
“No. I don’t mean any disrespect to our league, but it is great for our league if we’re successful, but we’re playing a rivalry game,” Fisher said.
“It’s a big game against Florida, and we know them very well and they know us. It’s just about that game.”
This weekend features several ACC-SEC clashes, including UF-FSU, Clemson-South Carolina and Georgia-Georgia Tech.
“If it does, and it helps our league, I’m all for it. I’m not against that,” Fisher said. “But that’s not a focus as far as what I’m concerned.”
• As expected, the only new addition to the Florida State injury list was senior running back Debrale Smiley, who sustained a high ankle sprain against Maryland last Saturday.
