TALLAHASSEE -- Days after Maryland announced its plans to leave the Atlantic Coast Conference and join the Big Ten, questions about the $50 million ACC exit fee continued to abound.
“I don’t know enough about the situation or if they have to pay or they don’t pay or I have not enough information,” coach Jimbo Fisher said. “I haven’t looked at it because of my focus on this [Florida] game to even be able to comment on it. I’m sorry.”
Maryland is rumored to be using a substantial donation from Under Armor founder Kevin Plank, a UMD alumnus, to leave the ACC.
Jimbo strikes again
When asked on the weekly ACC coach’s call why the AP poll continues to rank Florida State in the bottom half of the top 10, Fisher responded sarcastically, “You’re one of the writers, ask them.”
The Coaches Poll currently ranks FSU No. 5, the Harris Interactive poll has the Seminoles at No. 6. The AP poll, meanwhile, has had the Seminoles ranked 10th the past couple of weeks.
