Berry season arriving in S. Dade

 

Rob Burr, organizer of the Redland Riot agri-tourism road rally, reports that Burr’s Berry Farm will open for the season on Wednesday with an expanded, vertically grown U-pick garden that allows for standup harvesting plus the return of an old favorite: Sweet Charlie variety strawberries.

Burr’s also offers shakes, hotdogs, ice cream treats, jams and jellies at 12741 SW 216th St., South Miami-Dade; 305-251-0145, burrsberryfarm.com.

Knaus Berry Farm, a strawberry and sticky-bun mecca, is already open at 15980 SW 248th St., Homestead; 305-247-0668, knausberryfarm.com.
