Panthers backs back in action

All three quarterbacks and all the running backs practiced Tuesday. Redshirt sophomore Jake Medlock left Friday’s game with his left arm in a sling after being slammed on his left shoulder by FAU’s Trevon Coley. Medlock first sustained a shoulder injury last season against this Saturday’s opponent, Louisiana-Monroe. With Medlock, FIU averages 30.4 points per game. In the two games he missed, the Panthers scored 20 points in each.

• After sophomore Richard Leonard’s 100-yard kickoff return Friday against Florida Atlantic, he vaulted up to seventh in the nation in kickoff returns with a 30.5-yard average.
