I read, with dismay, the Nov. 18 article, AIDS agency to Broward commissioners: ‘We made a terrible mistake’: It is amazing to me that no commissioner questioned the shocking allegations against Michael McGuigan.
One is innocent until proven guilty, but the serious allegations warranted, at the least, a full investigation before McGuigan was appointed CEO. The information presented by The Miami Herald would definitely cause me to question whether McGuigan should be in such a position with an agency that serves children.
He might not have worked directly with children, but he was in a position of influence. I don’t think the county should be giving Broward House funds. It has proven that they are not worthy of the public’s trust or money.
