South Florida guide to corporate gift giving

Companies shopping for ways to thank clients and employees this holiday season are considering items that can be useful and fun, from holiday cookies to custom sunglasses.

Special to The Miami Herald

Bobby Flay Condiment Collections: Help your colleagues beef up for the company picnic with sauces and rubs from the Bobby Flay Signature Collection. Named for the chef’s signature restaurant, there’s the Mesa Grill Habanero Mango Hot Sauce and the Bobby Flay Steak Sauce and Steak Rub. Made from spice blends created by Grilling God Flay, they can all be used as marinades or salad dressings, and spooned into side dishes and salsas. $8 to $10; www.bobbyflay.com.

Desktop box set from Artefacto: The Brazilian furniture designer didn’t forget about the executive desk this holiday season when it came out with its leather desk organizers. They’re contemporary and clean (perfect for desks that aren’t), made from leather to hold envelopes, pens, notepads and hopefully a reminder to do business with the company that sent this over in the first place. $1042.13 for three but they’re sold separately as: small, $288.91; medium, $336.97; and large, $416.25; www.artefacto.com (click products, then accessories and tray and boxes).

Campari Limited Edition bottles: Help your clients feel the holiday spirit with the Italian liquor that for this season exclusively comes wrapped with a label created by artist Ugo Nespolo. It’s a colorful reinterpretation of Leonetto Cappiello’s piece Spiritello commissioned by Davide Campari in 1921. Inside, there’s the Campari’s unique infusion of bitter herbs, aromatic plants and fruit that’s special when paired with simple ingredients, such as sparkling water. $28 Gulf Liquors; 1681 Alton Road, Miami Beach, 33139.

Wantful.com’s color catalog: Let your clients or colleagues pick out their own gifts by creating pages of options offered for a price you determine. Whether you’re spending $30 or $300 — and anywhere in between — this company prepares for (and from) you, pages filled with choices such as essential oils, racks of baby back ribs and driving gloves. You choose 12 items and wantful.com puts them on glossy pages that are mailed to your recipients, who will in turn shop for themselves. $30-$300 www.wantful.com.

Wireless speaker and skins: Acoustic Research makes a portable device that plugs into an audio source and wears a protective layer by Skinit that sports your company’s logo. The speaker, with Bluetooth wireless and built-in 3.5 mm cable, has a rich sound to accompany the sight of your corporate insignia. That’s two of your clients’ senses to stir when they’re either in the office, working late with music, or on vacations they hoped — heh heh heh — would get their minds off business. $129.99; www.acoustic-research.com.

MoMA Uselen Letter Opener: A modern take on the classic desk accessory, this polished stainless steel piece is sleek and serious. Created by industrial designer Giulio Iacchetti, this mail tool sends the most professional holiday message but — seeing as it’s from the Museum of Modern Art — has a cutting-edge style. $30; www.momastore.org

Polo shirt with a pocket of personality: For gifting to a company of golfers, the performance route golf polo shirt has not only the moister-wicking quality that South Floridians need for 18 holes in this heat, but the customized pocket can carry your company’s persona. This corner of the shirt can be shaped in the form of your logo and sewn on so it’s seen in courses across the country. Shirts come in all sizes for both sexes and in a rainbow of colors, but none of this is immediately obvious on the company’s website. The product is so custom you’ll need to ask for it in an e-mail. Minimum order of 24 for $34.95 each; info@soboconcepts.com.

Henri’s Reserve Champagne: Starting at $45 but sparkling up like the bubbles this gift promises, Henri – a real person, we’re told - is so familiar with this region of France he wants to be your corporate gift concierge. To that end, the Tasting Soirée will help build your client’s champagne cellar, or its inventory anyway, by finding her small batch bottles. This trio serves six to eight guests and because the champagne is from boutique vineyards as opposed to one of the big houses, you’ll seem to have sent a holiday secret. $175, www.henrisreserve.com.
