Irish playwright Conor McPherson’s tense thriller ‘The Birds,’ based on the Daphne du Maurier short story that inspired Alfred Hitchcock’s famous movie, brings its carefully crafted chills to Mosaic Theatre in Plantation this weekend. Kenneth Kay, Kim Cozort and Vera Varlamov play the people who take on an army of avian adversaries. Performances are at 8 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, 3 p.m. Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday, through Dec. 9.

 

Tickets are $40 ($36 for seniors 65 and older, $15 students 25 and younger). Mosaic performs at the American Heritage Center for the Arts, 12200 W. Broward Blvd., Bldg. 3000, Plantation. Call 954-577-8243 or visit www.mosaictheatre.com.
