In Leonard Pitts’ Nov. 11 column, GOP has become its own worst enemy, he mocks the GOP as a party that is “wholly white and mainly male.” But of the first four Republicans he takes to task one is female, one black and one Hispanic.
There’s a lot of talk about the demise of the GOP. Maybe the truth is that the man the incumbent beat — and not by a large margin — is someone many people wanted to like even though they weren’t sure how effective his policies would be; a man whose politics seemed to shift with the wind and who was vilified for being successful.
