Senior Feast

The organization MzGoose will have its second annual Senior Feast from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday at Phil’s Berry Farm, 13955 SW 248th St. in Homestead. All seniors are invited. It’s free. For more information call Helen Gage at 305-251-2458.

Shoes for Haiti

The third annual Shoe Drive for Haiti, sponsored by the youth from the North Dade Deanery, is now going on. If you want to donate, you may do so through Dec. 8, by dropping off your donations to Sunday at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 464 NE 16th St.

Needed are new and slightly used shoes and for babies through adults. Also, the group is collecting soccer balls for Haiti. On Dec. 8, volunteers will be needed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to help sort the shoes. To volunteer call Kathy Walker, Deanery Youth Leader, at 786-417-3261.

‘Service of Inclusion’

Temple Bat Yam at 5151 NE 14th Terr. in east Fort Lauderdale, will have a "Service of Inclusion," at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

"Each year the Service of Inclusion is one of our most meaningful Shabbat services," said Rabbi David Spey. "We are proud to provide everyone in the community the opportunity to share in worship and celebrate Shabbat."

The service, done predominantly in English, is approximately 45 minutes long, and is designed for group participation with music and call and responses prayers for those who cannot follow along in the prayer book.

A portion of the sanctuary will be designated the "quiet section," and will have the audio system at a lower volume for people sensitive to loud sounds. The seating will be arranged to provide additional spaces for wheelchairs.

The community is welcome to attend the services.

Rummage Sale

Temple Beth Tov-Ahavat Shalom will have its annual Rummage Sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 18) at the synagogue, 6438 SW Eighth St. in West Miami. Items for sale will include electronics, jewelry, linens, clothing, yard items and kitchen items.

Also, the temple will have its first Thanksgiving Lunch at 1 p.m. on Nov. 22. The event, will feature a three-course traditional meal with all the fixings. The cost is $26 per adult and $13 per child and teenagers. Seating is limited. So, if you go, you must make your reservations by Monday, by calling 305-282-4996.

Missionary Day

Bishop Walter H. Richardson and Evangelist A. Frances Nixon, president of the Missionary Board at The Church of God Tabernacle at 1351 NW 67th St. in Liberty City, invites the community to the annual Missionary Day worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday.
