More BCS criticism from FSU’s Jimbo Fisher

Miami Herald Writer

A couple of days after issuing controversial statements on the BCS computers, coach Jimbo Fisher expounded on his point, noting the disadvantage being in the Atlantic Coast Conference has on the Seminoles’ ranking. Fisher admits FSU’s nonconference schedule hurts them but says there’s more working against FSU than just that.

“I guess it could be [the nonconference games], but I mean, at the same time, our conference at times seems to be getting punished a little bit,” Fisher said.

• Despite Maryland starting a linebacker [ Shawn Petty] at quarterback on Saturday, Fisher cautioned FSU fans that the Terrapins can still do things on offense.

“They do some really nice things on offense,” Fisher said. “[They] have a dynamic, playmaker receiver, a very strong back. They’ve had some issues at quarterback because of injury but have still been able to move the ball.’’
