Charity kick-off at Bayside

 

DoubleTree by Hilton launches the Miami edition of its national fundraiser for Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry initiative from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday at Bayside Marketplace, 401 Biscayne Blvd., Miami.

Called the Little Things Project, it asks participants to pledge their help in ending childhood hunger. In exchange, DoubleTree will donate $1 to No Kid Hungry — and give pledgers a chocolate chip cookie, access to a Wi-Fi lounge and cellphone/tablet charging station, coupons to Jungle Island and $5 Publix gift cards while supplies last; facebook.com/doubletree.

    The Coral Gables Museum, 285 Aragon Ave., Coral Gables, celebrates the 500th anniversary of Ponce de Leon’s Florida encounter with a presentation on the history, culture and architecture of Granada accompanied by “a generous sampling” of Spanish wines. Tickets are $30 at 305-603-8067.
