Woman abducted in Deerfield Beach, terrorized by masked man

 

The victim, who was abducted outside a Deerfield Beach health clinic, says the suspect stalked her because she rebuffed his advances.

Panicked and so scared she urinated in her pants, Latonya Peak lay for hours on the floor of a “filthy” apartment where an armed man she’d befriended at work repeatedly threatened to kill her for rejecting his romantic advances.

The seven-hour ordeal began when a masked man who police say was Vinson Jerome Rattray Jr. abducted Peak at gunpoint in the parking lot behind the health clinic where she worked. He forced her to run every red light from Deerfield Beach to the Coral Springs apartment complex where he held her captive until a SWAT team negotiated his peaceful surrender about 8 p.m. Monday.
