Just as we’d gotten over the infamy of taint and corruption in the 2000 presidential election, Floridians have again become the laughingstock of the country.
We maneuvered and manipulated our influence to appear pivotal in the 2012 election outcome, but we ended up being irrelevant and looking like clowns and buffoons.
Those of us who took the time to participate in this most important process were shown, irrefutably, that Florida’s more than eight million votes didn’t even count in the presidential election of the century! All of us bear the stain of the incapacity, indifference and ignorance that account for our state’s colossal shortcoming in the election process.
The people who share the shame, but not the blame, are entitled to an explanation from those responsible for the Florida fiasco of 2012.
