Letters to the Editor

State is disgraced

I am outraged over Gov. Scott’s handling of the election. It is my right and privilege to vote. It is his duty to protect one of our most precious freedoms, our right to vote. He should strive to make this process easy and uncomplicated. It is his duty to serve all citizens: Democrats, Republicans and Independents.

Why, then, did he make voting so difficult? Clearly, it was a deliberate attempt to quell free choice. He cut early voting; precincts were combined.

Why did he purposely create the long lines, making some us wait more than four hours to vote? Florida is not his political playground. He has made Florida the laughingstock of America, once again.

I, for one, shall begin a grassroots effort to change the way he is allowed to govern and to manipulate our freedoms. He shall not prevent me from voting. He shall not prevent the poor, the less fortunate and the less able from voting by creating long lines, in an effort to have them give up and walk away.

We shall not walk away; we shall walk forward. We shall raise awareness of Scott’s perverted ways to sway an election. We shall express our anger in the voting booth. His effort was an affront to our intelligence. He disgraced the state of Florida.

  • Where was Obama during attack?

On five Sunday television talk shows, the Obama administration sent out senior advisor Dan Pfeiffer to downplay the three recent scandals: AP, IRS and Benghazi. His claim that the still-unanswered question of where President Obama was and what he did was irrelevant, since Obama was in contact with his staff, was particularly outrageous.
