Stage Pick

David Ives’ hot and darkly funny ‘Venus in Fur’ pits a self-important playwright against a seemingly scattered actress auditioning for an adaptation of the erotic novel that gave the world the term ‘masochism.’ Matthew William Chizever plays the flustered writer, Betsy Graver the irresistible actress in the production opening at 8 p.m. Saturday at GableStage. Performances are 8 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, 2 and 7 p.m. Sunday (no evening show Nov. 10), through Dec. 9. Tickets are $37.50-$50. GableStage is in the Biltmore Hotel, 1200 Anastasia Ave., Coral Gables. For information, call 305-445-1119 or visit www.gablestage.org.
