TALLAHASSEE -- Senior offensive lineman Jacob Fahrenkrug was the only addition to the injury list. The Seminoles play Virginia Tech in Blacksburg on Thursday. Fahrenkrug, a reserve junior college transfer, is battling turf toe. Coach Jimbo Fisher said Rueben Carter would replace him on the depth chart.

Shaw shaken up

Junior receiver Kenny Shaw was not included on the Florida State injury report after being involved in a minor car accident over the weekend. Shaw is expected to play Thursday night at Virginia Tech but in the meantime senior Willie Haulstead received Shaw’s reps in practice.

Back at home

When quarterback EJ Manuel takes the field in his native state of VIrginia it will be for the first and last time in his college career. Manuel, who grew up in Virginia Beach, received offers from Virginia Tech and Virginia, but took only one visit — to Florida State — and signed shortly after. Manuel, a senior, is the most accurate passer in ACC history.
