Please keep an eye on the effect of Hurricane Sandy on insurance rates in Florida. I doubt that anyone in the other states pays the same amount that I have to pay for homeowners insurance and windstorm.
If my insurance company, USAA, tries to raise rates again because of its losses from Sandy in the Northeast, I will unquestionably be leaving Florida. It’s just not worth it anymore.
People on the East Coast should be paying the same for the same coverage, and I know that right now, this is not the case.
