Naples: Florida Panther Festival

Hello kitty

If you’re headed for Naples’ annual Florida Panther Festival on Saturday, Nov. 10, go early. A selection of pre-festival field trips into panther territory are being offered on Nov. 9. Trips include swamp buggy tours and hikes with park rangers and biologists. You’re more likely to see evidence of panthers, such as paw prints and scratch marks, than live cats, but sightings are possible. Events will take place at a variety of locations, including the Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge, Big Cypress National Preserve and the CREW Land & Water Trust’s hiking trails. Advance reservations are required and tours involve a small fee. Then stay overnight for the free Florida Panther Festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at North Collier Regional Park.
