South Alabama coach Joey Jones thinks his team’s main improvement has been offensive as his team has settled in with Ross Metheny as the quarterback.

Over the past three games, the Jaguars — who will play host to the Panthers at 3:30 p.m. Saturday — have scored 29 in a loss to Arkansas State, 37 in a double-overtime win against FAU and 24 in a loss against Louisiana-Monroe.

Hickman honored

Junior defensive end Greg Hickman’s two sacks among three tackles for loss Saturday got him honorable-mention notice among the nation’s defensive linemen by the College Football Performance Awards.

FIU has had 10 sacks in its past three games after three sacks in its first six.
