More than 20 flights out of South Florida's two major airports were canceled Sunday afternoon due to Hurricane Sandy’s approach to the Northeast.
Among those were 15 flights from Miami International and 10 at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

For nearly 40 decades, Barbara Watson has lovingly served the children as director of the Early Childhood Center at Coral Gables Congregational Church. Now, she said, it is time to hang up her director’s hat and move on. At 11 a.m. on June 2, the Rev. Dr. Laurinda Hafner, the church’s senior minister, has planned a special celebratory service for Watson.
