In South Florida, you don’t need much of an excuse for a party, but Books & Books has a good one: The store celebrates its 30th anniversary Saturday with a daylong bash at the Coral Gables store.

Activities for kids and families run from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., with a street party for grownups with food by participating guest chefs (including Allen Susser, Michelle Bernstein and Norman Van Aken), drinks and live music from 7-9 p.m.

Fair additions

Psychotherapist Brian Weiss has been added to the Miami Book Fair International lineup. He’ll speak at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 14 about his book Miracles Happen: The Transformational Healing Power of Past-Life Memories.

Also added: Manny Diaz, who will discuss his book Miami Transformed: Rebuilding America One Neighborhood, One City at a Time at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Freedom Tower.
