PF LEBRON JAMES
• Age: 27.
• Pro: 10th season.
• Height: 6-8.
• Weight: 250.
• Inside scoop: James had quite the season last year by winning the scoring title and MVP honors. James then was named MVP of the NBA Finals after winning his first championship. He would later lead Team USA to Gold — James’ second — at the London Games. James enters his third season in Miami with a little less pressure on his shoulders after he carried the Heat at times during last year’s playoffs. In Game 4 against the Pacers and the Heat down 2-1, James’ went off by scoring 40 points with 18 rebounds as the Heat tied the series. Against Boston in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals, James scored 45 points with 15 rebounds and five assists to join Wilt Chamberlain as the only players to put up those numbers in an NBA playoff game.

G DWYANE WADE
• Age: 30.
• Pro: 10th season.
• Height: 6-4.
• Weight: 220.
• I nside scoop: An eight-time All-Star, Wade was forced to miss the London Olympics because of a bothersome left knee that required offseason surgery. After a slow start to the preseason, Wade scored 21 points in 23 minutes in Miami’s in over Detroit on Oct. 18. Wade, the MVP of the 2006 NBA Finals, struggled in parts of Miami’s title run last spring as his knee — which needed to be drained during the Eastern Conference semifinals — gave him more trouble than he publicly let on. Wade averaged almost 23 points in Miami’s five-game win over Oklahoma City for the championship.

PF/C CHRIS BOSH
• Age: 27.
• Pro: 10th season.
• Height: 6-11.
• Weight: 240.
• Inside scoop: Sometimes absence does make the heart grow fonder. It seems like that was the case with Bosh as he was definitely missed when he was injured in the opening game of the east semifinals. Bosh eventually returned from his abdominal injury and was worked slowly into the lineup. Then, in Game 7 against the Celtics, Bosh erupted, scoring 19 points on 8-of-10 shooting — hitting three three-pointers in the process. Bosh averaged close to 15 points with more than nine rebounds in the five games of the NBA Finals as he also won his first championship. Bosh is going to be asked to play more center this season, something he says he is ready to do.

SG RAY ALLEN
• Age: 37.
• Pro: 17th season.
• Height, weight: 6-5, 205.
• Inside scoop: Yet another future Hall of Famer on the Miami roster, Allen left after five successful seasons with the Celtics. Allen wasn’t happy coming off the bench in Boston, although that’s likely where he will start this season. Allen gives the Heat another good shooting option, and although he won’t be starting, you can bet he will be in games when it counts.
