Police investigate Miami Gardens shooting

Police are investigating a shooting in Miami Gardens that left two men dead and another critically injured early Saturday, Miami Gardens Police spokesman Detective Carlton Coleman said.

After receiving several calls of shots fired, officers were dispatched to a home at 17700 NW 14th Ave. around 2:30 p.m., police said. Three men were found shot.

Jordan Copeland, 18, died at the scene while his father Edwin Copeland, 37, died at Jackson Memorial Hospital. The third victim, Denzel Flowers, 20, being treated for his injuries at Jackson, police said.

At least two people were involved in the shooting, police said. The suspects possibly fled the scene in a burgundy Pontiac Grand Prix.
