Belen’s homecoming game canceled due to Hurricane Sandy; dance still on

Due to Hurricane Sandy, Belen Jesuit Preparatory’s homecoming game originally scheduled for Friday has been canceled.

The 3 p.m. game pitted the school against Mater Academy. The cancellation was issued by the Greater Miami Athletic Conference.

The school in West Miami-Dade also announced it will be closed on Friday and all daytime activities have been canceled.

However, a decision on whether to cancel the homecoming dance scheduled for Friday night will be made early Friday, the school said. The dance is set to be held at the Cruz Building at 3157 Commodore Plaza in Coconut Grove.

Parents are encouraged to stay up to date on the status of the dance via the school’s website, www.belenjesuit.org.
