Car slams into full bus bench in Miami Gardens; several hurt

Several people were taken to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after a driver lost control and careened into a bus bench full of people.

Fire rescue crews tended to at least four people at the intersection of Northwest 199th Street and Second Avenue in Miami Gardens. Several were taken to the hospital by air rescue helicopters.

The car that hit the bench was resting on its side in front of a CVS pharmacy.

WSVN Fox 7 reported that the crash began with one car hitting another car, then plowing into the bus bench. WSVN reported that the number of people hurt had grown to six.

The condition of the victims is unknown.
