AP: Fidel Castro makes public appearance at Hotel Nacional in Havana

Former Cuban leader Fidel Castro, rumored to be dead for more than a week, has made a public appearance at Hotel Nacional in Havana, The Associated Press reported on Sunday just before noon.

If true, the appearance by the 86-year-old Castro would end rumors in South Florida and across Latin America in recent days that Castro had died or suffered a debilitating stroke.

It’s unclear when Castro visited the popular hotel or why he was there.

This story will be updated as soon as more details are known.
